The Rich and Wonderful History of Spiritualism, Metaphysics and Parapsychology Part 1

What we now term metaphysics and parapsychology began in the 1800's as Spiritualism. Andrew Jackson Davis was giving lectures on vast subjects unknown to him under hypnosis while public investigations were being conducted of the rappings of a spirit in the home of the Fox Sisters in New York.

Spiritualism stimulated the scientific investigations into the areas considered paranormal, rather than relegate phenomena to blind faith or superstitious beliefs. We now have a wealth of scientific inquiry into the questions: Does human personality survives the death experience? and Whether or not we can commune with the Spirit World.
